This online Statistics textbook was written by a retired professor of neuroscience. It is based on his lectures of a two semester course in experimental neuroscience/psychology.

It is written in plain English and although it covers introductory statistics and advanced statistics, it uses simple arithmetic and only five simple formulas.

The objective of this online book is to train college and graduate students in the art of experimental science. It stays clear of senseless rituals of memorizing complex formulas and plugging numbers into those formulas.

Formulas are simply ways of summarizing what you do. What you do in Statistics is simple arithmetic. If you understand the concepts and logic of statistics you need no formulas.
