Mainstream statistical tests of significance were created by two statisticians, William Sealy Gosset and Ronald Fisher.

William Sealy Gosset created the t-distribution which is used in the t-test of significance.
Ronald Fisher created the F-distribution which is used in all ANOVA tests.
